The Pesticide Association of Bangladesh was formed by involving all local supplier of pesticide to initiate privatization process of pesticide sector in Bangladesh.
1979:
The Pesticide Association of Bangladesh obtained Trade Organization (T.O) License from Ministry of Commerce. GoB and registered with the Joint Stock Companies & Firms.
1980:
The Pesticide Association of Bangladesh become first grade Member organization of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI)
1984:
The Pesticide Association of Bangladesh attained Membership of CropLife Asia (CLA), a regional unit of CropLife International (CLI), a global federation of the plant science industry in 90+ countries.
1991:
With the assistance of GIFAP, the safe use of pesticide project was launched.
2001:
The Pesticide Association of Bangladesh name was changed to Bangladesh Crop Protection Association to reflect the widening interests of its members.
2009:
Partnership development with Swisscontact/Katalyst for more outreach of safe and judicious use of pesticides.
2016:
Pesticide Regulatory Authority PPW, DAE under Ministry of Agriculture issued a gazette that obligate mandatory membership of Bangladesh Crop Protection Association to submit pesticide dossier for registration.
2017:
BCPA signed a MoU with CNFA/USAID for organizational capacity development.
2018:
The Pesticide Act 2018 of GoB recognized Bangladesh Crop Protection Association as a member of the Pesticide Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC).
